Charles B. Wood
Attorney Charles Wood is a new addition to the legal team at Mattice Law Offices. Mr. Wood is a seventeen year attorney, who has served as a Deputy District Attorney, Deputy County Counsel, and was with one of the leading Solano County Business, Real Estate and Estate law firms for nine years before coming to Mattice Law Offices in late 2009. In addition to nearly fifteen years as a government then a private practice attorney in Solano County, Mr. Wood practiced as a bilingual attorney for a general law firm in San Francisco, and was a successful real estate agent before attending law school. Mr. Wood grew up in Solano County, currently serves the community in several capacities, and is raising his children in the Fairfield-Suisun community.
Mr. Wood will now aggressively apply the Mattice Law Offices’ client centered philosophy of allowing the client to choose his or her own unique legal goals, in this world of "cookie cutter" solutions, in the following practice areas:
General Civil Litigation: Representation of clients in all forms of civil litigations with emphasis on real estate, business and collection disputes, and estate and trust litigation.
Real Estate: Negotiations of purchase and sales agreements, leases, tax-deferred exchanges, and foreclosure solutions. Representation of individuals and institutions in litigation and negotiations involving real estate, including: breach of contract, construction defects, failure to disclose conditions, fraud, property tax reductions (including assessment appeals and reassessment issues), eminent domain, inverse condemnation, easements, covenants, conditions and restrictions. Representation of clients before public agencies in real estate development, zoning, and environmental compliance matters.
Trust, Probate and Will Contest Litigation: Representation of trustees, private fiduciaries and beneficiaries in contested estate litigation, including contested probate administrations, will contests and trust litigation. Mr. Wood assists elders and their families in seeing that wealth remains under the control or direction of those who accumulated the wealth.
Business and Commercial: Representation of parties in business disputes, including breach of contract, collection disputes and business litigation. Commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, formation of business entities, business entity dissolution and buyouts (including contested).
Land Use / Environmental Law: Representation of property owners, developers, neighbors, and neighborhood groups, in all matters of County and Municipal law with special emphasis on real estate development, land use, zoning, property rights, and local application of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
Family Law: Representation of parties in dissolutions and post dissolution actions. Mr. Wood’s unique business and real estate experience offers clients creative options in dissolutions where complex business and real estate assets pose challenges to a fair division.
